VRSC-ARAC Discussion Panel at DOC Circuit Montreal
Dear colleagues, panellists and festival organizers,
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making this year's VRSC-ARAC Discussion Panel at DOC Circuit Montreal a great success!! Thanks for taking the time in your busy schedules to participate. It was truly a fun and successful event!! We had plenty of great feedback from the people attending as well as the festival oganizers!!
A very special thanks to Ragnhild Milewski of NFB IMAGES and Wilfred Tenaillon of GETTY IMAGES for being on the panel. Your collections are both vast and ecclectic and they speak for themselves - magnificient and unique photos, clips and music. Thanks also to Mary Graziano, Lea Nakonechny, Karen Feiertag, Cecelia Ramirez and Marquise Tessier of the NFB as well as Amy Odell and Stewart Braun of Getty Images for their help and generous contribution, without which this panel would not have been possible. Thanks to you all!! It is always a great pleasure working with you!!
Thanks to Nancy Marcotte for participating and for talking to us about the amazing work she did on the film "Pax Americana", which is being presented during the festival and is in competition in the ECOCAMERA Category.
Thanks to Mia Webster for accepting to participate and for talking to us about the importance of finding and using free visual material as well as the importance of being creative throughout the whole process.
Special thanks to Elizabeth Klinck for taking the time in her busy schedule to come to Montreal and to share her secrets (remember the "silent" treatment…it never fails!!) and her precious advice!! It was also a pleasure meeting her son Jack!!
And finally, I would escpecially like to thank Michèle Houle for accepting to host our panel for a second year in a row. Her calm and cool presence and wonderful humour always makes everyone feel so confortable. You’re a pro, Michèle!! Merci!!!
Also, thanks to Marie-Anne Raulet, Executive Director of les RIDM and to Anne-Mare Lavigne, Coordinator of DOC Circuit Montreal and the rest of festival organization. Thanks as well to all the volunteers. We look forward to seeing you again next year!!
So I guess it's already time to start thinking about the panel in 2010!!
Cheers!! Marc
